Key Ingredients: Kojic Acid / Arbutin / Bearberry / Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate / Curcuminoids / Hexylresorcinol / Emblica / Silybum / Vitamin E / Hyaluronic Acid
Kojic Acid– Kojic acid is a compound that is commonly derived from various fungi. Kojic acid is often used as a skin lightening agent because of its effects on a protein known as tyrosinase. By inhibiting the tyrosinase protein’s ability to make melanin, kojic acid is able to prevent skin pigmentation, which can help lighten the skin’s tone.
Arbutin– Arbutin is a molecule extracted from the bearberry plant that prevents the formation of melanin. Arbutin blocks tyrosinase and keeps dark spots at bay. Arbutin is the naturally occurring cousin of hydroquinone.
Bearberry– Bearberry extract is made from the leaves of the bearberry shrub. Bearberry leaves have long been used in herbal medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as its anti-bacterial effect. The polyphenolic compounds found in bearberry leaves have been shown to have strong antioxidant properties that protect the skin from the visible signs of aging like premature wrinkles and fine lines caused by free radical damage.
Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate– Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C.It is used in anti-aging products because of its ability to increase collagen levels, reduce melanin production, brighten skin, and repair the effects of UV exposure and other environmental damage.
Curcuminoids– Curcumin is the major component of turmeric. Turmeric has long been used as nature’s anti-inflammatory ingredient. Curcumin protects skin by quenching free radicals and reducing inflammation. Curcumin also reduced wound-healing time, improves collagen and increases vascular density in wounds, thereby enhancing wound-healing.
Hexylresorcinol– Hexylresorcinol targets pathways in the skin that lead to hyperpigmentation. Hexylresorcinol also has the ability to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, increase protection against UVB and UVA rays, and improve the skin’s barrier against pollution and sun exposure.
Emblica– A naturally occurring chemical that lightens the skin. Emblica is also an antioxidant and stops the breakdown of collagen.
Silybum– Silybum is essentially milk thistle seed. It contains high levels of vitamin E & fatty acids, including linoleic acid. It’s antioxidant benefits help protect skin from environmental stressors. In addition to these effects, milk thistle also soothes and moisturizes the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid– Hyaluronic acid has the ability to replenish moisture that is crucial to having younger-looking, supple skin. Hyaluronic acid can enhance moisture content beyond comparison with anything else, and at the same time revitalize skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and, especially, radiantly hydrated! That’s how it instantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
